Mix and combine the salt, nutmeg, bread crumbs, onion, and 3/4 cup milk in a fairly big mixing bowl.

Let milk soak into crumbs for a few minutes.

Lovingly and gently stir in ground beef until well mixed.  Fashion into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.  Brown meatballs in butter and oil in a large skillet pan.  Remove with a slotted spoon to a 2 1/2-quart baking dish.

Drain off all but 2 tablespoons of drippings.  Stir flour into drippings.  Cook, stirring constantly, until bubbly.  Stir in beef broth and cream.  Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until Swedish meatball sauce thickens and boils for a minute.

Swedish meatball recipe serves about 6 hungry travelers.

The real traditional style in Sweden is to have homemade boiled mashed (and whipped) potatoes (made with milk and butter, spiced with salt, white pepper and some nutmeg), quite heavy creamy sauce and good quality Swedish lingonberry jam and maybe salty pickled small cucumbers...and of course "mummy's meatballs", made out of minced beef meat!!

No parsley, no dill...no salad at all! That is the traditional way!
